Learn how to carve and print by hand using linoleum blocks and Flexcut carving tools, following the traditional form of printmaking. The class will explore some of the possibilities of printmaking, such as single and multi-color prints, shading techniques, and tools and equipment. Designs will be provided, but students are encouraged to bring their own ideas or drawings.
Make Valentine's Day cards, greeting cards, calling cards, business cards with your logo or family crest! Gain a fun skill that you’ll use again and again.
By the end of the session, participants will take home linoleum blocks, card stock and a new Flexcut Printmaking Set of tools to continue exploring and making prints at home.
No experience necessary. All tools and materials included in fee. The Flexcut Printmaking set includes the following: a #6 x 5/16" Gouge, a #11 x 1/8" Gouge, a 45 deg. x 1mm V-Tool, a 70 deg. x 1/4" V-Tool; a handle that fits the blades above; a tool roll, a slip strop; a small block of honing compound; and instructions.)
Cost: $90 instruction fee + $75 materials fee ($165 total).
